  When they finally came out of the oven, only a few of them had the classic dark brown colour only seen in Bavarian pretzels, and the slashes were barely visible anymore. The greaseproof paper that I had placed in between the pretzels and the baking tray only managed to stick to the pretzels like superglue! I had to scrape it off.
